Fully Balanced R2R DAC

Topping collaborates with HOLO AUDIO to launch a brand new fully balanced 8-channel R2R DAC. It features 8 resistor array networks, distributed across both sides of the circuit board, creating a unique fully balanced configuration. Four resistor arrays on the front side are dedicated to DSD decoding, employing what is termed a "Vector Step Resistance Network".

NOS/OS/Best - Three-Mode Switching

OS Mode: It applies oversampling to digital signals to minimize quantization errors, reduce noise, and improve the SNR and DNR, significantly enhancing audio performance.

NOS Mode: It bypasses oversampling and decodes audio at the original sample rate, preserving the authentic characteristics of the audio signal for the most accurate and real listening experience.

Best Mode: It automatically selects the optimal oversampling rate based on the source's sample rate and the DAC's internal processing capabilities, achieving an ideal balance between performance.

LDAC wireless available

Equipped with QCC5125 chip, TOPPING Centaurus supports Bluetooth 5.1 and can support up to 96kHz/24bit. Also it fully supports LDAC/aptX-Adaptive/aptX/aptX HD/AAC/SBC and other audio encodings, allowing high-quality audio to be transmitted wirelessly to provide a music experience beyond CD level.

Plug and play

TOPPING Centaurus has a wide range of compatibility and apply to various operating systems such as Windows 10, Windows 11, MAC, Linux and iOS/Android. The USB hardware is based on third generation XMOS XU316 and Thesycon driver*. It's stable and reliable. In addition, the USB input supports up to M768kHz/32bit and DSD512.

Directly connect active speaker to adjust volume

In addition to the fixed output level DAC mode, TOPPING Centaurus also has a "preamp" mode. In preamp mode, you can adjust the output volume of TOPPING Centaurus, then connect it directly to a pure amplifier or active speaker, that saves the cost of a pre-amplifier.
